Overview

Since 1947, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is a focal Ministry of the Government of Pakistan for all projection related activities and serves as a bridge between the Government, media and the people. It is also entrusted with the responsibility to provide policy guidelines to the state electronic media. The Ministry extends professional support to Ministries and Federal Government Organizations for effective projection of the policies and programs of the Government both at home and abroad. The Ministry is also responsible to formulate and implement policies, laws, rules and regulatory framework concerning the print and electronic media and the news agencies. It also promotes and projects Pakistan's soft, progressive and democratic image within and outside the country.
