APHC leader urges world to act against India's 'reign of terror'"
ISLAMABAD, Aug 4 (APP):The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter Information Secretary Imtiaz Wani in a message Sunday lambasted India's alleged human rights atrocities in Kashmir, declaring that the region's indomitable spirit of freedom remains utterly unvanquished and with unflinching resolve Wani issued a clarion call to the global community to intervene decisively in the long-festering Kashmir dispute.
He said on the occasion of 5th anniversary “Youm-e-Istehsal”(Day of Exploitation) that will be observed tomorrow (Monday) that the world powers should intervene decisively for the resolution of Kashmir dispute adding that India's 'reign of terror' has left the region reeling under unprecedented human rights abuses, political repression, and unspeakable suffering.
Hurriyat leader have issued a unified call to the Kashmiri people to observe August 5 as 'Youm-e-Istehsal' (Day of Exploitation), commemorating the fifth anniversary of India's controversial decision to revoke Article 370, which had accorded occupied Jammu and Kashmir a degree of autonomy.
This move, perpetrated by India's Hindutva regime, is widely regarded as a brazen attempt to dismantle the region's unique identity and subjugate its populace, he added.
By observing 'Youm-e-Istehsal', the Hurriyat leaders aim to mobilize the Kashmiri masses against the ongoing onslaught on their rights, cultural heritage, and political aspirations, and to reiterate their unwavering commitment to the struggle for freedom and self-determination, he added.
The indomitable spirit of the Kashmiri people and their unwavering struggle for freedom and self-determination can never be forgotten, he said, adding, despite facing unimaginable hardships, brutal suppression, and relentless attempts to erase their identity, the Kashmiris have remained resolute in their pursuit of justice and human rights.
Their courage and resilience serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration, reminding the world that the quest for freedom and dignity can never be extinguished, he added.
As the Kashmiri people continue to navigate the treacherous landscape of occupation and oppression, their struggle remains an integral part of the global narrative, demanding attention, solidarity, and support from the international community, he highlighted.
The Modi-led Indian government has transformed the Kashmir Valley into a virtual prison, imposing a suffocating grip on the region and rendering the lives of Kashmiris miserable, he mentioned.
The revocation of Article 370 and the subsequent enforcement of draconian laws have led to a pervasive atmosphere of fear, repression, and despair, he added.
The valley has been subjected to intermittent communication blackouts, stringent curfews, and a heavy military presence, severely restricting the movement and freedoms of its inhabitants, he said.
The economic backbone of Kashmir has been crippled, with widespread job losses, business closures, and a crippling blow to the region's vital tourism industry, Wani said.
The mental health of Kashmiris has also borne the brunt, with soaring levels of anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), he said, adding, the Indian government's actions have effectively turned the Kashmir Valley into a massive open-air prison, where the fundamental rights and dignity of its people are being systematically eroded.

Kashmiris to observe Youm-e-Istehsal tomorrow
ISLAMABAD, Aug 4 (APP):Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC), in Pakistan and all over the world will observe Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir, tomorrow, the August 5, to register their protest against Hindutva Indian BJP government’s illegal action taken on that day in 2019.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Indian government led by Bharatiya Janata Party, in gross violation of the United Nations resolutions and international law, scrapped Article 370 of the Indian Constitution that granted special status to Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and imposed an unprecedented military siege in the territory on 5th August 2019.
Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference jailed leadership, Massarat Alam Butt and Shabbir Ahmed Shah, has appealed to the Kashmiri people to observe Black Day on 5th August (tomorrow) to convey a strong message to the world that the Kashmiris do not accept India’s brutal anti-Kashmir acts and violation of international law over dispute territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Illegally detained APHC leaders in their separate messages from jails, said August 5, 2019 is one of the blackest days in IIOJK.
Aug 5 another dark chapter of exploitation of Kashmiris in history of IIOJK: Lone
ISLAMABAD, Aug 4 (APP):Hurriyat leader Abdul Hameed Lone here on Sunday said that August 5 is another dark chapter of exploitation of Kashmiris in the history of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking to APP, he said the history is full of Indian illegal occupation and oppression of oppressed Kashmiris in Occupied Kashmir, but five years ago on August 5, 2019, India terminated the special status of Occupied Kashmir by taking illegal and unconstitutional measures.
With this Indian action, a repressive and cruel attempt was made to usurp the rights of the oppressed Kashmiris, which they had under Article 370 and Article 35-A of the Indian Constitution.
Under Article 370, the Occupied Kashmir State had a special status, while Article 35-A clarified who is a permanent citizen of Occupied Kashmir and who can buy property there. In other words, these articles meant that the occupied state of Kashmir is a separate and independent state. And only permanent Kashmiris can buy property there i.e. no non-indigenous resident can buy land or property in Occupied Kashmir. Population and numbers of Kashmiris could not be affected under these articles.
On August 5, 2019, India abrogated these articles by adopting a completely illegal and unconstitutional method by adopting a repressive and cruel method. This action is a clear abuse of the fundamental rights of the oppressed and besieged Kashmiris. With this move, another chapter of exploitation of Kashmiris was started. Abdul Hameed Lon said that with this action of usurper India, not only the worst attempt was made to deprive Kashmiris of their basic rights, but also violated the basic human rights of Kashmiris. Occupied Kashmir which is already under Indian occupation. Where the concept of human rights is impossible. Indian army beasts torture people whenever they want. The lives of the young, old and children have been made miserable. These beasts violate the sanctity of the chador and the four walls and enter the houses and rape the women. The goons of the Hindu extremist organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) always get the best wishes of the Indian government, the army and the local police. These RSS thugs forcefully close the shops and businesses of Kashmiris. Burn their property. Even the worshipers, the elderly and the children are persecuted, but there is no one to stop them.
The question is why in India the Narendra Modi government felt the need to abrogate the aforementioned articles which were part of the Indian constitution from the beginning, as the world knows that Narendra Modi is the extremist and terrorist organization RSS. is the main member of which the purpose and basis of establishment is anti-Muslim.
Due to this thinking, the Muslim residents of India are also deprived of basic human rights. There is no concept of human rights in India and Occupied Kashmir. Under the demonic thinking of Modi government and his party Bharatiya Janata Party i.e. BJP, a formal plan was made to abolish the above mentioned articles. The purpose of which was to remove the basic state rights of Kashmiris and bring non-state Hindus to the occupied state so that the number of Hindus would increase and the number of Muslim majority would decrease and turn into a minority.
After the cruel abrogation of these articles, the Modi government started bringing non-state people from India to settle in Occupied Kashmir. What these people want to buy is the property on the lands and gardens of the Kashmiris through the Indian government and the thugs of the RSS. are occupying and forcing them to transfer their lands to their names by showing 'purchase' in government documents. Not only this, these non-state persons are also being given government jobs in the occupied state without merit, from which Kashmiris are dismissed and made unemployed. Hurriyat leader Abdul Hameed Lone said that
These Indian actions of August 5, 2019 are a black mark on India's face and a slap on the face of its secular state and human rights. Kashmiris in Pakistan and around the world celebrate this day as Kashmir Exploitation Day every year. Demonstrations and rallies will be organized tomorrow in Pakistan and all over the world in favor of Kashmiris and against Indian exploitation. Even in Azad Kashmir, Kashmiris will protest vigorously. These protest demonstrations, rallies and speeches are intended to make it clear to the world that Kashmiris do not accept these cruel and unconstitutional actions of India in any way and demand the international community to put effective pressure on India to end the unconstitutional act of 5 August 2019. , be forced to withdraw the illegal and inhumane measures.
How sad and sad that more than seven decades have passed and despite the resolutions of the United Nations, India's oppression and oppression of the oppressed and helpless Kashmiris continues, but the so-called pioneers of human rights do not even notice. Rather, look at the brazenness of India that four years ago yesterday, by taking shameful actions against Kashmiris, they were also deprived of their basic constitutional rights, which is tantamount to genocide of Kashmiris. The world powers should wake up from their slumber now or else the United Nations should be abolished and human rights should be removed.
Seminar highlights India's horrendous crimes of Erasure, Settler colonialism in IIOJK
ISLAMABAD, Aug 4 (APP):Legal forum for Kashmir LFK and AMBLEM School System organised a seminar titled “Erasure and Resistance: Kashmir's Struggle Against Settler Colonialism in the Global South” at AMBLEM Auditorium Hall yesterday in Rawalpindi.
Convenor All Parties Hurriyet Conference Azad Kashmir and Pakistan Chapter Ghulam Muhammad Safi presided over the event.
The speakers said that on 05 August 2019, India not only abrogated the article 370 but also tried to change the demographics of erstwhile state. Indians wanted to change the only Muslim majority state into a minority which India has miserably failed.
The speakers said that after scrapping Article 370 in IIOJK, legislation was also passed regarding the targeting of minorities and the steps taken by India to promote the ideology of RSS and Hindutva but this narrative was broken.
Director AMBLEM School System, Lt. Col (r) Murtaza Ali Shah, emphasized the importance of Uswah-al-e-Hasanah as the sole path to achieving ultimate success. He highlighted that following the exemplary conduct and principles of Uswah-e-Hasanah provides a clear and definitive direction for individuals striving for meaningful and lasting accomplishments in life.
Lt. Col (r) Murtaza Ali Shah's statement underscores the belief that true success is rooted in adhering to the moral and ethical standards set by Uswah-e-Hasanah. By embracing these values, individuals can navigate their personal and professional lives with a sense of purpose and integrity, ultimately leading to a more fulfilling and successful existence.
Convenor APHC AJK Ghulam Muhammad Safi said that the Indian government was trying to convince the world that Jammu and Kashmir was an undisputed part of its territory which was not true.
He maintained that India’s brutal and illegal occupation of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir was not only a violation of international laws, but also a mockery of internationally recognized principles of human rights.
Vice Chairman JKNF Altaf Wani for Kashmiri masses to observe August 5 as Exploitation day
ISLAMABAD, Aug 4 (APP):Urging Kashmiri masses to observe 5th August as exploitation day, the Jammu Kashmir National Front (JKNF) has said that the day marks the onset of India's settler colonial project that seeks to control, by all means, Kashmir, its population and resources.
Talking to APP here on Sunday the JKNF Vice Chairman Altaf Hussain Wani , while castigating the BJP government for its aggressive designs in the region, said that 5th August move was an atrocious assault on Kashmiris’ national identity.
The contentious move, he said, had pushed the state into a quagmire of uncertainty, lawlessness and perpetual violence that continue to wreak havoc on the region.
Terming it as yet another step in India's history of colonizing Kashmir the National Front leader said that the colonization of Kashmir has since long been a dream project of the BJP and other Hindu supremacist groups who believe in Savarkar’s Hindutva ideology.
Wani urged the Kashmiri masses to observe a complete shutdown on the day to convey the world that Kashmiris neither accept India’s illegal occupation of their mother land nor do they accept unilateral decisions the Indian government has taken on and after 5th August 2019.
Condemning in strong terms the India’s policies of oppression and suppression to subdue Kashmiris, the National Front leader said that the fascist regime has turned Kashmir into an open-air prison where people were forced to live in a state of heightened fear of being killed, harassed and humiliated.
He, however, maintained that despite using all possible means of oppression India has miserably failed to suppress Kashmiris’ urge and their passion for freedom.
He said that day was not far when the Kashmiri people’s legitimate struggle for right to self-determination would reach to fruition.
Butt describes Aug 5 one of most painful, agonizing days in Kashmir's history
ISLAMABAD, Aug 4 (APP):All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Information Secretary Mushtaq Ahmed Butt described August 5 as one of the most painful and agonizing days in Kashmir's history.
Talking to APP, he said that on this day, the Modi regime, in severe violation of international laws, unconstitutionally abrogated the special status of the disputed region of Jammu and Kashmir by repealing Articles 370 and 35A. This action split the state into two territories and turned it into an open prison, where ten million unarmed Kashmiris faced the oppressive presence of a million heavily armed Indian soldiers. The regime stripped the Kashmiri people of all their fundamental, political, religious, and social rights, dehumanizing them in the process.
Mushtaq Ahmed Butt stated that the Narendra Modi regime unleashed an unprecedented wave of oppression, arresting thousands of pro-freedom leaders and activists, who remain detained in distant Indian prisons. Hundreds of homes have been demolished, and numerous people have been dismissed from their government jobs. Freedom of expression has been heavily curtailed across social, electronic, and print media, creating an atmosphere of silence and fear throughout the state.
In today's modern and digital world, Kashmir is experiencing rapid demographic changes, with efforts to erase its Muslim identity. People's homes and lands are being confiscated, and non-state residents are being rapidly settled in Kashmir to transform it into a Hindu state.
Despite these injustices, the Kashmiri people remain determined to continue their struggle for the right to self-determination until their goal is achieved. Mushtaq Ahmed Butt appealed to the international community, Islamic countries, and human rights organizations to take action against the increasing Indian atrocities in Kashmir. He urged them to declare all illegal measures taken by India as null and void, pressuring India to resolve the Kashmir issue in line with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and fulfill the promise of self-determination.
Kashmiris to observe Aug 5 as Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir tomorrow
ISLAMABAD, Aug 4 (APP):Kashmiris across the globe would observe August 5, Youme -e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir as a black day and in this regard seminars, conferences and protests would be hold by Kashmiris in the different parts of the world to highlight the bloody face of India and show the sheer violations of the human rights since August 5, 2019.
All Parties Hurriyat Conference has urged the people in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir to observe August 5, Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir, as a Black Day.
According to the details, on August 5, 2019, the Hindutva-inspired Indian government revoked Article 370, which granted special status to the internationally recognized disputed territory, and imposed a brutal military and police siege.
APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rahid Minhas made the appeal in a statement in Srinagar, urging people, shopkeepers, transporters, advocates, Ulemas, employees, and Kashmiris at home and worldwide to observe August 5 as “Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir.” The statement said that the masses of Jammu and Kashmir demand the reversal of actions taken on August 5, 2019, resolution of the Kashmir dispute as per United Nations resolutions, release of all political detainees, and an end to human rights violations by India in IIOJK.
APHC stated that on October 27, 1947, India invaded Jammu and Kashmir and illegally occupied it against the will of the Kashmiri people. On August 5, 2019, it repealed its special status and merged the territory with India in violaton of the UN resolutions on Kashmir.
The APHC also appealed to human rights organizations to send teams to IIOJK to assess the ground situation and undertake an independent assessment of massacres, disappeared persons, pellet and bullet injuries, detained individuals, and the impact on mental health in IIOJK.
Adv Minhas said the RSS-backed Hindutva regime has arrested thousands of Kashmiris since August 5, 2019, when New Delhi repealed Kashmir’s special status and imposed a military siege in the territory. He deplored the deliberate prolonging of illegal detention of Kashmiris for their political beliefs and shifting detainees from IIOJK to India to pressurize masses and create problems for detainees’ families.
The current arrest spree in IIOJK is a revengeful policy to silence the voice of freedom, the APHC said. India is practicing all methods of coercion to punish Kashmiris for their firm resolve to freedom, and draconian laws like the Public Safety Act (PSA) and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) are used against Kashmiris to force them into submission.
Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir tomorrow
SARGODHA, Aug 04 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Capt (retd) Aurangzeb Haider Khan said on Sunday that like other parts of the country, Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir would be observed here on Monday, August 5.
On the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the district administration would organize special events to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir. A seminar and a rally would be held at the Arts Council Complex, Kutchery Road, at 9:00 AM.
Government officials, students, and people from all walks of life would participate in the events. District Educational institutions had been directed to organize seminars, lectures, photo exhibitions, and other activities to highlight the Kashmir issue.
The Deputy Commissioner condemned India's illegal action of 05 August 2019 in Indian Occupied Kashmir, saying that the move was a blatant violation of UN resolutions.
He urged the international community to take notice of human rights abuses in Kashmir and work towards a peaceful resolution to the core issue.
Altaf Wani slams India's 'oppressive' rule since autonomy revocation
ISLAMABAD, Aug 4 (APP):Chairman Kashmir Institute of International Relations and Hurriyat leader Altaf Hussain Wani Sunday slams India's government for exploiting and oppressing Kashmiris since revoking their autonomy in 2019 and accuses India of violating human rights and democratic norms.
In an exclusive Interview with Radio Pakistan in connection with Youm-e-Istehsal, he argued that India's government has been implementing a series of measures aimed at altering the demographic makeup of Kashmir, including the settlement of non-Kashmiris in the region and the suppression of Kashmiri language and culture.
He claims that these policies are part of a broader strategy to assimilate Kashmir into the Indian mainstream, thereby erasing the unique identity and traditions of the Kashmiri people.
India's so-called democracy was being exposed to the world on coercive implementation of article 370 and 35A on October 5, 2019 and lamented India was engaged in educational, economic and identity exploitation of Kashmiris, he added.
Modi led Indian government fulfilled the hindutwa and RSS ideology through the article 370 and 35A in Indian Allegedly Occopied Kashmir (IIOJK), he mentioned.
The United Nation (UN) and the Security Council have declared India's illegal occupation illegal through several resolutions, he added.
The curriculum was forcefully changed for the Kashmirs, particularly, the history of Muslims was removed, he added.
He further said that the India was making a sinister attempt to destroy the rights of Kashmiris by changing the population ratio in Kashmir, adding, non-state residents are being resettled in Kashmir by changing their domicile.
Replying a question , he explained that after 2019, more than 10,000 women are missing due to communication blackout and curfew, adding, these figures are of FIRs filed for missing women.
An attempt was also made to make Kashmiris homeless by demolishing more than 6,000 houses, he added.
Indian atrocities need to be highlighted in the whole world so that the world can see the true face of India and the exploitation of Kashmiris, he stressed.

Kashmir Exploitation Day: India's state terrorism makes life worst nightmare for oppressed Kashmiris
PESHAWAR, Aug 04 (APP):As the sun rays disappear behind Mahadev mountain peak at Srinagar of Indian Illegally Occupied Jummu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the oppressed Kashmiris are being seen locking doors of houses due to human rights abuses and systematic state terrorism of the Indian occupational forces since they invaded the held valley on October 27, 1947.
Breaking all records of oppression, humans rights abuses and state terrorism of modern era, the Indian occupational forces have unleashed terror in IIOJK after the fascist Modi government revoked its special status on August 5, 2019, forcing most Kashmiris to spend sleepless nights due to indiscriminate firing, cluster ammunition, sniper attacks, excessive use of pellet guns, fake encounters where women and children were being abducted and sexually assaulted as weapon of war.
Secretary General, World Kashmir Awareness Forum (WKAF), Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai stated that frustration at India’s intransigence and the world’s hesitation to fulfill its commitment drove the people of Kashmir to be more assertive in their struggle.
“Specially n the past 34 years of struggle, since 1990 alone, Kashmiris’ have suffered loss of more than 100,000 civilians – men, women and children, and have borne the perpetration of countless atrocities by more than 900,000 Indian military and paramilitary forces concentrated in Kashmir as an army of occupation,” Dr Fai said.
He regretted that the popular revolt in Eastern Europe countries was observed and reported by international media, but the Kashmir issue has remained largely hidden from the world’s view.
“This is the reason that New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) has cited that news media in Indian held Kashmir is at the brink of extinction,” Dr Fai said.
Meanwhile, Senior APHC leader and Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabbir Ahmed Shah sought intervention of the world community to prevent the robbing of the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir of their land, identity and integrity by the Modi-led Indian regime.
Amnesty International, in its letter co-signed by six organizations, had recently urged the representatives of G20 member countries on the eve of its summit in New Delhi in September last year for the release of jailed human rights defenders, politicians and political prisoners of the IIOJK.
Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik was jailed in a fake case and funeral of greater Syed Ali Gillani was not allowed and laid to rest at night without participation of his family.
These organizations included Asian Federation Against Involuntary Disappearances, the Asian Forum for Human Rights and Development, CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation, Front Line Defenders and Kashmir Law and Justice Project.
The organizations had urged the G-20 countries, “to raise these issues directly with the government of India in accordance with their obligations under international law and call on India to adhere to its international legal obligations.”
“The voices in this letter resonate with a global call for justice, accountability, and the protection of human dignity in one of the world’s most contested territories,” the letter stated.
Organization of Islamic countries (OIC) has also repeatedly supported Kashmiri people’s struggle and called upon India to give Kashmiris their just right to self-determination.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Shah stated, “Coercion, intimidation and harassment of political activists, journalists, rights groups and civil society activists, has been a hallmark of the Modi government’s Kashmir policy.”
Mushtaq Ahmed Shah, Voice Chairman, Jummu and Kashmir’s Peoples League told APP that most of oppressed Kashmiris in IIOJK were either being attacked or kidnapped after Indian forces resorted to serious human rights abuses mostly against women and children as weapon of war after Hinduvata BJP regime had abolished special status of IIOJK.
Accompanied by sniffer dogs, Indian occupied forces forcefully entered the houses of Kashmiris even at mid night on the name of so-called search operation and misbehaved with women and children that made Kashmiris almost sleepless.
“The 43 page report of the Office of United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) 2019 had exposed Indian security forces’ systematic terrorism and war crimes at IIOJK,” said Mushtaq Ahmad Shah.
The report had testified that Indian occupied forces had used excessive force and pellet guns against peaceful Kashmiris in 2016, resulting in deaths and injuries of a large number of civilians which was a clear violation of UN Basic Principles on Use of Force and Firearms by Law Enforcement Officials, he said.
Great Hurriyat leader, Muhammad Yasin Malik was jailed for life in a fake case in a bid to silence his strong voice for Kashmir’s freedom and terrorize other Kashmir leadership.
The brutal killing of freedom fighter Burhan Wani and other Kashmiris leadership in a fake encounter besides issuances of over six million illegal domicile certificates of IIOJK to Hindus had exposed the anti-Kashmir’s policies of the Hinduvata’s regime.
He said the gruesome violation of human rights including the forced disappearance of over 8,000 innocent Kashmiris, 8,652 unmarked mass graves, imposition of longest curfew on some 10 million unarmed Kashmiris, extra-judicial killings and human rights abuses especially against women and children exposed India’s ugly secular face before the world
Adnan Sarwar Khan, former Chairman, International Relations Department, University of Peshawar said the illegal occupation of Kashmir valley by India had contravened multiple articles of the 30 fundamental human rights of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) drafted by representatives from all the regions of the world including India on December 10, 1948 and subsequently was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
He said this declaration was applied to all the signatory members of the UN including India and restrained them from all kinds of abuses, exploitation, maltreatment and violence besides violation of any fundamental rights protected in the UDHR.
They experts said that four wars were fought on Kashmir dispute and another war would be disastrous between nuclear armed neighboring countries for the peace and stability of the region.
They urged UNO to come forward and implement its resolutions on Kashmir for lasting peace and stability in South Asia.
Shamim Shawl on 'Youm-e-Istehsal' appeals global solidarity to end Indian Occupation in Kashmir
ISLAMABAD, Aug 4 (APP):A prominent Kashmiri woman Hurriyat leader Shamim Shawl Sunday called for a revised Kashmir policy that prioritizes the rights and aspirations of the Kashmiri people and with a deep sense of urgency she stressed the need for the international community to intervene and rescue Kashmir from the clutches of oppression.
Shawl, a prominent voice in the Kashmiri freedom movement talking to PTV news channel emphasized that the international community has a moral obligation to act and ensure that the Kashmiris' right to self-determination is respected and their fundamental freedoms are protected.
"On Youm-e-Istehsal, a day marking the third anniversary of India's illegal annexation of Kashmir, Shamim Shawl has issued a heartfelt appeal to the global community to stand in solidarity with the oppressed people of Kashmir.
Shamim Shawl urges the world to recognize the grave human rights violations and humanitarian crisis unfolding in Kashmir.
She calls for collective action to end the occupation, restore freedom and dignity to the Kashmiri people, and ensure a just and peaceful resolution to the long-standing conflict.
"The world cannot afford to remain silent spectators to the atrocities being committed against the Kashmiri people," Shawl said.
"We need a Kashmir policy that is grounded in empathy, justice, and a commitment to human rights, she said, adding, Pakistani all political parties should also devise a comprehensive approach and bring a new Kashmir Policy in Parliament."
Shawl's appeal comes at a time when Kashmir is witnessing a surge in human rights violations, with reports of extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, and torture.
The Kashmiri people, she said, are living under a state of siege, with their basic freedoms curtailed and their voices silenced, she decried.
The international community, Shawl urged, must recognize the gravity of the situation and take concrete steps to address the Kashmir issue.
"We need a solution that is acceptable to the Kashmiri people, not one that is imposed upon us," she said.
Kashmiri's - Decades old saga of world's neglect
By Abbas Ali Chohan
ISLAMABAD, Aug 04 (APP):As world conscience drowns deep in obliviousness, innocent Kashmiris continue to daring unending Indian hegemony and tyranny rendering valuable sacrifices over the past seven and half decades with no immediate solution visible around.
August 05, 2019 was another example of Indian thralldom in Illegally Indian Occupied Kashmir (IIOJK) when Narendra Modi led fascist regime abrogated Article 370 and 35A in utter neglect to inalienable rights of Kashmiris to self-determination as assured in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.
Not only this but it is also height of Indian arrogance that its occupational forces killed over 900 Kashmiris, injured more than 2430, arrested and tortured around 24,688 citizens, destroyed 1119 structures, widowed 68 and gang raping or molesting 133 women since 2019 to quell the freedom struggle and uprising against the unlawful act of Modi’s regime.
According to ‘Freedom in the World’ report 2023, tens of thousands of additional Indian troops have been deployed to the region since August 2019, to quash public expressions or opposition to the Reorganization Act. There is lack of political participation as repressive policies have been imposed to promote censorship and human rights violation.
Under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), several journalists, freedom fighters and human rights activists were detained after raiding their houses. Additionally, they were declared terrorists and compelled to spend their lives in incarnation without being found guilty.
Secondly, the introduction of Sedition Law (Section 124A of the Indian Penal Code) has clamped freedom of speech while other acts like Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) and Public Safety Act (PSA) were also used as tools for continued subjugation.
“After abrogation of article 370 and 35A, demographic changes are also in pipeline involving new domicile rules, with millions of so-called domicile certificates issued to non-Kashmiri outsiders, who became eligible after abrogation of these articles,” stated Chairman Kashmir Institute of International Relations (KIIR) Altaf Hussain Wani.
“Voting rights were also given to non-residents,” he informed saying that properties were confiscated and Newland laws introduced to enable land to be seized from locals and transferred to outsiders as the BJP authorities seized the J&K Waqf Board in 2022. “This marked a drive to take control of all prominent places of religious significance for Muslims in the occupied territory, including shrines. Religious leaders and Islamic scholars were also arrested and prayers were barred in many mosques across Kashmir.”
As the world nations remain oblivious to Kashmiris calls for right to self-determination, India carried forward its agenda of out numbering local people by issuing domiciles and allotting land to outsiders in negation of the UNSC resolutions.
“Delimitation plan announced by the Indian government handed over six more seats to Jammu in the J&K Assembly holding the capacity of 90 seats,” remarked Qirat Mirza, a student of International Islamic University. “Consequently, the representation of Jammu increased to 43 percent while representation of Kashmir remained at 47 percent. However, according to the 2011 census, Kashmir Valley’s population was seven million and Jammu’s 5.3m.”
She said even after such blatant violations of international laws, the BJP regime had attempted to hold G20 summit in 2023 to legitimize its brutal control over the disputed territory that met disproportionate opposition from the local people.
She said even the UN Special Rapporteur on Minority Issues, Fernand de Varennes, raising concerns on human rights violation in IIOJK had asserted, “the government of India is seeking to normalize what some have described as a military occupation by instrumentalizing a G20 meeting and portraying an international seal of approval.”
Even the Indian apex court, being under pressure of Modi’s regime faded away the aspirations of Kashmiri people who thought would get justice from the court of law.
“On Dec 11, 2023, Indian Supreme court upheld the abrogation of Article 370 granting a status of autonomous territory to Kashmir. It was a painful decision for Kashmiri people,” said former Caretaker Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Mushaal Hussain Mulick.”
She said the petition was signed by sundry parties particularly challenging the constitutionality of the Presidential order and the segregation of J&K into two union territories and Kashmiris were waiting that Supreme Court would set aside the Presidential order of 2019.
“But, the situation took an unexpected turn. The Supreme Court not only declared the processes for abrogation as constitutional but also stated, there are no constraints on powers of the President in abrogating special status of Kashmir,” she said.
Therefore, Mushaal said, “India’s claim of normalcy in Kashmir is baseless in the face of political, religious and human rights violations and the people of Kashmir are disenchanted with the Indian government for turning the valley into hotbed for militancy.”
The feelings of doom and gloom are pervasive as people grapple with marginalization and alienation as the Indian government responds to every gesture by deploying more security personnel in the valley. It depicts abrogation of Article 370 as an attempt to bring integration while it is nothing more than a step towards subjugation and cultural erosion.
Call for collective action against increasing human rights abuses by India in IIOJK
ISLAMABAD, Aug 04 (APP):Speakers at a discussion called on the international community to assist the people of Jammu and Kashmir in light of the deteriorating human rights situation following India's illegal revocation of the region's autonomy.
The discussion was hosted by the Institute of Regional Studies (IRS) on the escalating human rights crisis in IIOJ&K since August 2019.
Mushaal Malick, former SAPM on Human Rights,Women Empowerment and wife of Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, emphasized the need to maintain international attention on the Kashmir issue. She praised the Pakistani government's steadfast support for Kashmiris' right to self-determination and called for increased backing from the Kashmiri diaspora and the international community to address the deteriorating human rights situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
Ambassador Jauhar Saleem, President IRS, highlighted a significant rise in human rights abuses in IIOJK following the abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35 A. He stressed that ‘the solution to end Indian atrocities in Jammu and Kashmir lies in fully supporting the Kashmiri people's inalienable right to self-determination, a commitment that Pakistan's government and its people have consistently upheld and will continue to support, he added.
Mr. Ilyas Mehmood Nizami, DG South Asia at MoFA, also reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to the Kashmiri people's right to self-determination. He noted that the ‘alarming human rights situation in IIOJK requires a collective response from the international community.
Ms. Shamim Shwal, a human rights defender and executive member of APHC, stated that limiting the Chief Minister’s powers in IIOJK, along with other forms of systematic political engineering, was akin to turning the valley into a settler colony. She warned that the ongoing ignorance and inaction of the international community regarding India’s severe human rights violations since August 2019 would encourage New Delhi to advance its hegemonic agenda in IIOJK, further jeopardizing the lives of Kashmiris, she added.
Dr. Waseem Ishaque, Associate Professor at NUML, compared India's approach to Kashmir with Israel's tactics in Gaza, endangering the lives of millions of Kashmiris. He highlighted the necessity of exposing India's hegemonic ambitions in IIJOK to garner international support for Kashmiri self-determination. Mr. Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, former convener APHC, echoed Dr. Ishaque's sentiment, stressing the significance of the right of self-determination. He noted that India's continued dismissal of UN Security Council resolutions was undermining the UN's efforts to secure the Kashmiri right to self-determination. Dr. Waqas Ali Kausar of NUML remarked that India was systematically alienating and depriving Kashmiris of their fundamental political rights.
The event attracted a large, diverse audience of diplomats, opinion makers, researchers, government officials, students, and journalists.
Yousuf Naseem condemns Youm-e-Istehsal as 'black chapter"
ISLAMABAD, Aug 4 (APP):Senior Hurriyat Leader Syed Yousuf Naseem Sunday termed Youm-e-Istehsal as a 'black chapter' in the history of the disputed region and reiterated the unwavering commitment of the Kashmiri people to resist Indian oppression and fight for their freedom, self-determination, and the right to decide their own political destiny.
Talking to PTV news channel, he condemned the Indian government's attempts to suppress the Kashmiri people's voice, erase their identity, and alter the demographic composition of the region.
Naseem also paid tribute to the countless martyrs who have sacrificed their lives in the struggle for freedom and vowed to continue their mission until the realization of the Kashmiri people's aspirations.
As the Kashmir valley continues to suffer under Indian occupation, Naseem's statement serves as a poignant reminder of the unrelenting struggle for justice, equality, and human rights that has defined the Kashmiri people's quest for freedom for decades.
Senior Hurriyat Leader Syed Yousuf Naseem pointed out that even pro-Indian elements in Kashmir have started to raise their voice against the Indian government's policies and are now seeking dialogue with Pakistan.
This, Naseem noted, is a clear indication of the growing disillusionment with the Indian government's handling of the Kashmir issue.
He observed that these pro-Indian elements, who were once staunch supporters of the Indian government, are now criticizing the RSS' s policies and their own leadership for their failure to address the concerns of the Kashmiri people.
This shift in stance, Naseem argued, is a testament to the fact that the Indian government's policies have failed to win the hearts and minds of the Kashmiri people.
He further noted that the criticism of the Indian government's policies by pro-Indian elements is being widely reported in the Indian media, which is a significant development in itself.
Hurriyat Leader also reiterated that the Kashmiri people's struggle is not just against the Indian government's policies, but also against the ideology of the RSS, which seeks to suppress the Kashmiri people's identity and culture.
He vowed to continue the struggle for freedom and self-determination, and expressed hope that the international community would take notice of the Kashmiri people's plight and support their just cause.

Barrister Sundas Malik urges global leaders to break their silence on Kashmir's HR Crisis
ISLAMABAD, Aug 4 (APP):A prominent advocate for human rights in Kashmir Barrister Sundas Malik Sunday vehemently condemned India's widespread and systemic abuses of fundamental human rights (HR) in the region and urged the international community to take immediate and decisive action to halt these injustices.
In an exclusive interview with Radio Pakistan in connection with Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir, she condemned India's unilateral actions, particularly the revocation of Article 370 of its Constitution, which she said was unjustified and illegitimate.
She said that the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) want a free and fair plebiscite to decide their future, highlighting that the abrogation of Article 35-A was a deliberate move to alter the region's demographic composition. She suggested that global powers could impose sanctions on the Indian government or its military to pressure India into reversing its August 5, 2019, actions.
She stressed that the international community must adopt a more robust and assertive stance to combat the egregious human rights violations in Kashmir, rather than turning a blind eye to these atrocities due to economic interests. The appalling scale of abuses, including genocide, ethnic cleansing, and crimes against humanity, demands an immediate and collective response, she added.
The global community must recognize the inherent value of human rights and take decisive action, including diplomatic pressure, economic sanctions, and support for independent investigations, to hold perpetrators accountable and ensure justice for the Kashmiri people, she mentioned.
Replying to a question, she said that the human rights report has laid bare India's glaring failures in addressing systemic discrimination and draconian laws targeting minority communities, particularly in Kashmir. The report exposes a distressing pattern of state-sponsored violence, arbitrary detentions, and blatant disregard for due process, perpetuating a culture of impunity and fear, he said.
She said there has been no progress for the people in IIOJK, where businessmen, farmers, and individuals face ongoing suppression and intimidation.
The report's findings serve as a stark reminder of India's obligations under international human rights law and the urgent need for reform to protect the rights and dignity of all individuals, regardless of their religion, ethnicity, or political beliefs, she mentioned.
"The BJP government's failure to provide adequate legal assistance to imprisoned top Kashmiri leaders is a glaring travesty of justice and a stark reminder of the systemic bias that pervades India's judicial system", she added.
Despite repeated appeals, the BJP Supreme Court has failed to provide timely and effective relief to these leaders, who have been languishing in jail for years without fair trial or due process, she highlighted.
Responding to a query, she further criticized that the Kashmir valley has been a contentious region for many decades, and there have been concerns about press freedom and the ability of journalists to report on the situation there. In recent years, there have been allegations that the Indian government has restricted access to the region for journalists and has pressured media outlets to present a particular narrative about the situation in Kashmir, she added.
"The international community must recognize the stark realities of the Kashmir crisis and acknowledge the sufferings of the Kashmiri people", she added.
For decades, they have endured human rights abuses, military crackdowns, and restrictions on their freedom of expression and movement, she said, adding, the world cannot continue to turn a blind eye to the plight of Kashmiris, who are subjected to collective punishment, extrajudicial killings, and enforced disappearances.
The international community must demand transparency, accountability, and a peaceful resolution to this longstanding conflict, ensuring that the rights and dignity of the Kashmiri people are respected and protected, she added.
Kashmirs' voice of freedom won't be crushed: Khadim Hussain warns
ISLAMABAD, Aug 4 (APP):A prominent Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Raja Khadim Hussain Sunday has unequivocally stated that India's efforts to suppress the Kashmiri people's struggle for freedom will ultimately prove futile and asserted that the unrelenting passion for liberation burning in the hearts of Kashmiris cannot be vanquished by India's military might or political maneuvering.
In his special message for Youm-e-Istehsal on the PTV News , he said despite decades of oppression, the Kashmiri people's resolve for self-determination remains unbroken and their quest for freedom continues to inspire a new generation of leaders and activists.
Raja Khadim Hussain made a fervent appeal to the international community to intervene and pressurize India to release the incarcerated Kashmiri leaders and political activists, who have been languishing in Indian prisons for years. Specifically, he highlighted the case of Yasin Malik, the iconic leader of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), for whom the Indian authorities have recently sought a death penalty, he added.
Hussain emphasized that Malik' s trial is a travesty of justice, and the death penalty sought by the Indian government is a stark reminder of the brutal suppression of Kashmiri voices.
He urged the international community to recognize the legitimacy of the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination and to demand India's compliance with international human rights laws, ensuring the immediate release of Malik and all other political prisoners.
The international community's silence, Hussain warned, would only embolden India's authoritarian regime, further perpetuating the cycle of violence and oppression in Kashmir.

Custodial torture, fake encounters: India robs Kashmiris of every right
Dr. Saeed Ahmad Ali
LAHORE, Aug 04 (APP):The Kashmir issue, being one of the oldest items on the agenda of the United Nations, which has held the Subcontinent hostage since 1947, now has become a flashpoint between the two nuclear states, a bone of contention between Pakistan and India.
For Pakistan, the Kashmir issue is not a territorial problem; rather, it is a human issue, relating to more than 13 million Kashmiris. Owing to its human dimension, the issue warrants an early resolution, so that the Kashmiri people can heave a sigh of relief.
As the Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir [Kashmir Exploitation Day] is being observed on Aug 5, experts believe that India had robbed Kashmiris of every right through custodial torture and fake encounters including the right to speech in the Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking to APP in connection with the Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir, experts said that [Narendra] Modi-led Indian regime is not even allowing Kashmiris to assemble and speak their mind and has gagged the internet and media while journalists were being harassed without any reason.
The hidden agenda of Hindutva organisations like Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), BJP, VHP and Shiv Sena is to thrust Hindu fascism in the Muslim majority Jammu and Kashmir, they said. Five years ago, the right-wing Hindutva-driven premiership of Narendra Modi government in India revoked the Articles 370 and 35A of the Indian Constitution while treacherously abrogating the special status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) in sheer violation of United Nations resolutions and the international law.
Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik’s wife Mushaal Hussein Mullick told APP that the RSS-inspired ‘Hindutva’ ideology was being pursued in IIOJK by the BJP-led Modi government, which was presenting ugly face of India around the globe. She said the dire political and human rights situation in the occupied territory had left India exposed at the international level. Lauding the sacrifices of people living at the Line of Control (LoC), she added that Kashmiris had been braving the brunt of firing at the LoC with the utmost courage. She urged the people of IIOJK to observe a complete strike on August 5, on both sides of the line of control and around the world to observe the Indian exploitation day. Modi-led Hindutva Indian government’s illegal move of repealing the special status of the territory on August 05, 2019, she informed.
Mushaal Mullick said fascist Modi and the Indian Army are turning Kashmiris into a minority in the valley by issuing domiciles to Indian citizens. In IIOJK, over 100,000 Kashmiris had been killed by Indian forces since 1989, while more than 7,200 people were murdered in custodial torture by the Indian army, she informed.
The grave human rights violations including killings, extrajudicial executions, arbitrary arrests, torture, and destruction and snatching of property witnessed a surge to an alarming proportion in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir after the Narendra
A recent report released by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, revealed that the killing of Kashmiri youth since Aug 5, 2019 have been higher than those in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2019. Most of the victims were killed in fake encounters and in custody in the garb of violent cordon and search operations in the length and breadth of the territory, it said.
A recent report reveals that senior Hurriyat leader, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai and Altaf Ahmed Shah were among dozens of Kashmiris who died in the custody of Indian police. The report said that at least 2,369 people were critically injured due to the use of brute force including firing of bullets, pellets and teargas shells by Indian troops, paramilitary and police personnel on peaceful demonstrators and mourners in the territory.
Meanwhile, many youths were picked up from their houses and then eliminated after being labeled as mujahideen or over-ground workers of mujahid organizations. It added that most of the arrested youth were booked by the Indian authorities under black laws like Public Safety Act and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, it revealed.
PPP senator Sehar Kamran said that it has been quite unfortunate that India used dilly-dallying tactics to avoid the UN promised plebiscite and continue its occupation of the territory despite the fact that the world body appointed several plebiscite administrators for the purpose.
Safdar Shaheen Pirzada, a noted lawyer told APP that Indian rulers led by Jawahr Lal Nehru manipulated a temporary link between IIOJK and rest of India through Article 370, a constitutional provision of the Indian constitution.
Although it was deemed as a temporary deal until a solution to the dispute was to be found, but India hoodwinked the Kashmiri leaders like Sheikh Abdullah about the hollow autonomy through clauses like 370, Pirzada said.
Article 370 was later supplemented by Article 35A that provided a sense of security to the people of Kashmir over their land, which was too robbed by Modi regime on Aug 5, 2019, he added.
Youm-e-Istehsal to be observed in Bahawalpur
BAHAWALPUR, Aug 04 (APP):Arrangements have been finalized to observe Youm-e-Istehsal in Bahawalpur to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir.
Official sources told on Sunday that all arrangements had been finalized to present different programs at Bahawalpur Arts Council on Monday, 5th August to mark the Day in order to express solidarity with people of Kashmir. “Pictorial exhibition, tableau, mushaira and other programs will be held at Bahawalpur Arts Council in connection with Youm-e-Istehsal,” they said.
Information and Culture Department, Government of Punjab and Idara Nazria Pakistan are jointly organizing ceremonies at Bahawalpur Arts Council in this regard, they added.
Pakistan to observe Youm-i-Istehsal on Monday to express solidarity with Kashmir
ISLAMABAD, Aug 4 (APP):The federal government has announced that Pakistan will observe Youm-i-Istehsal on Monday, to mark the fifth anniversary of India revoking Kashmir’s special status and to show solidarity with Kashmiris.
On August 5, 2019, India’s Narendra Modi-led government stripped the Muslim-majority territory of its special status by repealing Article 370 of the constitution, splitting the former state into two territories directly ruled by New Delhi.
Through the revocation of the said article, people from the rest of India gained the right to acquire property in Indian-held Kashmir and settle there permanently. Kashmiris, as well as critics of India’s Hindu nationalist-led government, saw the move as an attempt to dilute the demographics of Muslim-majority Kashmir with Hindu settlers.
In response to the controversial move, the government of Pakistan designated 5 August as Youm-e-Istehsal, starting in 2020. This day is now observed annually in Pakistan as a reaction to the status change.
This year, discussions related to the commemoration of the day were held at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. The meeting was attended by federal ministers and senior government officials who briefed the PM about preparations.
“A joint main event of Pakistani and Kashmiri leadership has been approved for the day, with Prime Minister Shehbaz expected to visit Muzaffarabad on August 5 to “show solidarity with Kashmiris”, a post from PTV News said on the X platform. The post added that the premier will “give an important policy statement” on Youm-i-Istehsal.
Other plans for Youm-i-Istehsal include a special walk to mark the day, as well as ceremonies across all provinces, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The PTV News post added that special broadcasts will be aired to commemorate the sacrifices of Kashmiris and highlight alleged human rights violations by India in the territory.
“Youm-i-Istehsal will highlight the conflict in Jammu and Kashmir, violations of the fundamental rights of Kashmiris and India’s breach of promises,” the PML-N said in a post on X.
Earlier this week, Pakistan called on the international community to pressure India to restore the special status of Indian-held Kashmir, end repression in the Valley and foster conditions conducive to resolving the longstanding dispute threatening regional stability.
The call was made during a briefing for Islamabad-based foreign diplomats at the Foreign Office on Friday, where Foreign Secretary Syrus Sajjad Qazi detailed the conditions in the Indian-held disputed territory and discussed the repercussions of India’s actions of August 2019, from the standpoints of international law, human rights, and peace and security.

Amir Maqam calls Int'l community to play its role to address Kashmir issue
ISLAMABAD, Aug 4 (APP):Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Engr Amir Muqam has appealed to the international community and Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) to play their vital role in addressing the longstanding Kashmir valley issue of the region.
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, the minister said the Kashmir dispute should be resolved through the resolution of the United Nations as without a solution to this issue there is no peace and development in the region.
He said that the incumbent government was highlighting the Kashmir issue at all appropriate platforms of the globe effectively. The minister underlined that since August 5, 2019, to date in the last five years around 900 people have been killed, more than 2500 freedom fighters injured and many widows have been arrested by Indian forces.
India is claiming the largest democratic state of the world but violating the human rights and suppressing the self-determination rights of Kashmiris, he added.
Amir Muqam asked all parliamentary parties to participate in the walk from Radio Pakistan to D Chowk in Islamabad on the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir on August 5. He said on August 5, 2019, the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was repealed by the Modi regime which will complete five years on August 5.
He said that every year, Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir is also being observed this year. Protest walks and demonstrations have been announced against this illegal move of the Modi government in Pakistan as well as around the world, he said.
Amir Maqam appealed to all parliamentary parties to participate in the walk so that a clear message could be sent to India that the government and people of Pakistan are united on the Kashmir dispute.
He said that the Indian actions were aimed at a process of demographic change and political engineering. As a result, he said that the Kashmiri people are confronted with the danger of becoming a disempowered community in their land.
"India has increased its oppression in IIOJK since August 5, 2019. Efforts are being made to silence the media. The genuine leadership of the Kashmiri people remains behind bars. The Indian authorities have sought the death penalty for one of the most renowned Kashmiri leaders, Yaseen Malik", he said.
He said the harassment of innocent people, arbitrary detentions, 'cordon and search' operations, and extra-judicial killings have become a matter of routine. The Kashmiri people are unable to enjoy their freedom of expression and assembly. Most importantly, they are unable to exercise their inalienable right to self-determination, he said.
He said on this 'Youm-e-Istehsal', we salute the courage and valour of the people of IIOJK, who have rendered countless sacrifices in their struggle for realization of their basic rights.
The international community must demand an end to India's gross and widespread human rights violations in IIOJK, reversal of its unilateral and illegal actions of 5 August 2019, repeal of draconian laws; release of political prisoners and implementation of relevant UN Security Council resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir, he said.
Amir Maqam said Pakistan will continue to play its role to ensure a free and impartial plebiscite in accordance with the United Nations Security Council resolutions. "Our strong moral, political and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people will continue till the realization of their inalienable right to self-determination", he said.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed all provinces authorities including Gilgit Baltistan and AJK to befittingly observe Aug 5 Youm-e-Istehsal.
The minister also briefed the media about the planned activities for Youm-e-Istehsal to be observed on August 5, including walks, seminars and awareness drives, particularly the ceremonies scheduled to be held at Pakistan’s diplomatic missions across the world.
Rasool exposes Indian political parties’ true face in Kashmir
ISLAMABAD, Aug 4 (APP):An academician, multi-disciplinary scholar and peace activist Dr Sheikh Waleed Rasool has criticized Indian political parties for their handling of the situation in Kashmir, accusing them of bullying and deceiving the Kashmiri people.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Dr Sheikh Waleed Rasool in a media interview in connection with Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir, argued that the Indian government had sought to erode the property rights of Kashmiris and undermine their ability to self-govern.
He exposed the true face of Indian political parties in occupied Kashmir, adding the Indian government’s actions would not extinguish the Kashmiri people’s desire for freedom.
He said Youm-e-Istehsal will be observed to express the Kashmiri people’s rejection of India’s illegal occupation and to protest the Indian government’s decision on August 5, 2019, to revoke the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.
This day serves as a reminder of the Kashmiris’ ongoing struggle for self-determination and their refusal to accept the Indian government’s unilateral actions, which they deem a violation of their rights and a threat to their identity, he said.
To a question, Dr Waleed Rasool strongly criticized the Modi government’s policies in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, particularly the imposition of Hindu nationalist ideology (Hindutva). He also condemned the government’s decision to change the names of places, languages and curriculum of students, which he sees as an attempt to erase the cultural identity and heritage of the Kashmiri people.
He said that even Hitler, notorious for his brutal suppression of minority groups, did not attempt to alter the cultural identity of the regions, as the Indian government is doing in Kashmir. He vehemently criticized the Indian government’s policies towards minority communities, particularly Muslims, Christians and other marginalized groups.

He vehemently criticized the Indian government’s policies towards minority communities, particularly Muslims, Christians and other marginalized groups.
Resolution of Kashmir dispute essential for achieving lasting peace in region:NA speaker
ISLAMABAD, Aug 04 (APP):Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq Sunday said that the resolution of the Kashmir dispute is essential for achieving lasting peace in the region.
He reiterated the need to resolve this long-standing dispute in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations and as per the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. He reaffirmed Pakistan's principled stance to support the Kashmiri people in their rightful struggle for freedom and self-determination.
The Speaker expressed these views on the eve of Yaum-e-Istehsal Kashmir, which is observed on the 5th August every year.
The speaker strongly condemned the illegal annexation of Indian-Occupied Kashmir and stated, "The Indian government abrogated Article 370 and 35-A of its constitution, stripping Kashmir of its special status and imposing a military siege on the territory", he said.
While lauding the resilience of the Kashmiri people he stated, "their struggle for freedom and self-determination is a beacon of hope for the entire region".
Kashmiris’ rights: New Delhi has lost battle of hearts and minds in IIOJK
LAHORE, Aug 04 (APP):Kashmir has been a burning issue since Partition of the Indian Subcontinent in 1947. Pakistan and India have fought three wars over Kashmir – in 1948, 1965, and 1999 — but have been unable to resolve the dispute.
After the Partition, Indian Subcontinent, millions of Kashmiris felt unsafe and uncertain about their fate. They were required to accede to either of the two states on the basis of the geographical location and wishes of their people. Since 1947, Article 370 has given Jammu and Kashmir a semi-autonomous constitutional status.
Earlier, under its provisions, the region had freedom in all matters except its legislature, constitution, flag and communications, foreign affairs and defence. Anger has simmered in the region and the situation, further worsened when the Modi-led regime on August 5, 2019 abrogated the special status of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), by repealing illegal articles 370 and 35-A. The Modi-led BJP government imposed a lockdown in the occupied Kashmir, allowing Indian forces to perpetrate unspeakable crimes against the Kashmiri population, with complete impunity.
In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has strongly condemned the Modi-led fascist Indian government for forcibly implementing secret and nefarious agenda of usurping all fundamental rights of the people of Kashmir, including their social, political, economic and religious rights.
Ending this status is an attempt to usurp the rights of Kashmiri people by eradicating their fundamental rights related to their social, linguistic, cultural, economic and political existence, Mian Marghoob Ahmad, a lawmaker at Punjab Assembly told APP Sunday. With the recent abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A, Indian parliament has maliciously allowed non-Kashmiris to resettle in Kashmir permanently, he said. Whereas actually, the Constitution of Kashmir first defines membership and then settlement. Non-Kashmiris are now allowed to buy property, keep it, and settle in Kashmir permanently.
It is pertinent to mention here that under the so-called constitutional changes, the existence of Gujjars (Bakarwal) in Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK), are immediately at greater risk. This Kashmiri population, occasionally and seasonally migrates with their animals to look after the animals and the land. According to the current change, regarding land as a sole property will not allow them to live on land as they have historically been doing. These changes will also be subject to population-rearrangement in Kashmir. Likewise, Kashmiris have speculated for decades that India intends to settle paramilitary families and military settlements there, as well as establishment of semi-permanent military colonies in Kashmir.
Noted constitutional lawyer Mohsin Nawaz said that indigenous Kashmiris have long faced threats to their existence as well as their inherited rights, especially ‘relative’ land rights, as colonial relations between indigenous peoples and settler states make land encroachment profitable. This will make indigenous peoples aliens. He termed the Kashmir a largest human open jail on earth, and highlighted the latest controversy surrounding the reported extrajudicial-murders of a number of Kashmiris in the Kulgam area. Cruelty knows no bounds, and after men were being gunned down, their bodies were not returned to their families. The Indian government is losing the battle of hearts and minds in occupied Kashmir, Nawaz added.
“The Indian occupational forces’ war crimes, state terrorism and human rights abuses had made life a nightmare for over one million oppressed Kashmiris especially women, children and senior citizens in IIOJK where life
The prevailing situation in the occupied valley had become a nightmare after abolishment of its special status on August 5, he remarked.
All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi said in a statement that India had imposed a military siege on some 10 million Kashmiris in IIOJK where over 900,000 Indian forces were deployed with no regards for human rights. “The Indian forces were using sexual violence, rape and molestation against women and children besides collective punishment as weapon of war in a bid to suppress the legitimate freedom movement in the held valley,” he said.
Since 1989, he said more than 162,000 Kashmiris had been subjected to inhuman torture by Indian occupational forces, which include stripping naked, beatings with iron rods, heavy roller treatment, electrocution, hanging from ceiling, burning of the body with iron rods, solitary confinement, sleep deprivation, sexualised torture including rape, molestation and sodomy.
While citing reports, he said over 100,000 Kashmiris had been killed by Indian forces since 1989 while more than 7,200 people were murdered in custody of the Indian army. Nearly 11,000 women were raped by Indian soldiers and over 110,000 children orphaned and about 23,000 women were made widows by the Indian army, Safi informed. Besides, the growing Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir and the August 2019 revocation have resulted in worldwide criticism against the extremist policies of Modi’s government.
APHC AJK chapter leaders vow to continue freedom struggle till liberation of IIOJK from Indian clutches
ISLAMABAD, Aug 4 (APP):Senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leaders from Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chapter on Sunday vowed that Kashmiris' struggle for self-determination and freedom from Indian yoke will continue till its logical conclusion.
Talking to APP, APHC leaders Ghulam Mohammad Safi, Syed Yousaf Naseem and Advocate Pervaiz Shah termed the fascist Indian regime's unilateral decision to abolish Article 370 and 35-A on Aug 5, 2019" constitutional terrorism".
They believed August 5 (Youm-e-Istehsal) was a day of exploitation, mourning and a black day for not only the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) but Kashmiris living all over the world.
They appealed to the United Nations, the international community, OIC, European Union and human rights organizations to take cognizance of the violations of human rights being committed in the state of Jammu and Kashmir by Indian occupation forces.
They said that India annexed Kashmir by violating all the agreements and international law on August 5, 2019.
The convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJK Chapter, Ghulam Mohammad Safi, said that India has been trying to justify its usurpation of Jammu and Kashmir since day one. In a cynical attempt to make Jammu and Kashmir a part of itself, the provisions included in the Constitution of India regarding the special status of Kashmir were abolished.
On August 5, 2019, India, he said the Modi government abolished the special semi autonomous status of Kashmir, and this day was now marked every year as Youm-e-Istehsal where voice was raised against oppression at every forum around the world. He said India had an illusion that after this move it had succeeded in its nefarious objectives and the special status of Kashmir has been abolished.
He said now under the conspiracy to change demography of the state, Kashmir's land was being allotted to Indians and they were allowed to become citizens of Kashmir.
Moreover Indian army was being allotted strategic areas and the Kashmiris were being deprived of their land. Encroachment is being done, the names of Muslim schools.
He said the curriculum was being changed and religious freedom was being abolished.
All Party Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu Kashmir Chapter Secretary General Advocate Pervez Shah said on August 5, 2019, India terminated the special status of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir in violation of all international laws and the UN Charter, including the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.
This special status was given to Kashmir on the occasion of the formulation of the Constitution of India under the United Nations resolutions considering it as disputed territory, he added.
In this regard, an agreement was reached between the Kashmiri leadership of that time and the government of India, after which 35A was added, he maintained.
He said following the repeal of Article 35A and Article 370, over 43 lac state subjects were issued to non-Kashmiris to resettle them in Kashmir.
“These measures aim to bring demographic change in Kashmir. We salute Kashmiris for not allowing India to succeed in its nefarious plans, this move is not accepted by either the Kashmiris or the international community,” he said.
He said that after failing in its plans, India started firing Kashmiris from their jobs. He said that BJP launched eight political parties in Kashmir in five years, but they could not get any candidate in the previous elections.
Kashmiris rejected all oppression and succeeded the human rights advocates like Engr Rasheed, Aga Ruhullah and such candidates who protested for the removal of Kashmir's special status in the House. Building more than 50,000 temples in Kashmir did not help, he said.
As long as Kashmiris are alive, they will continue their struggle and one day Kashmir will be free, he said adding,
"We are grateful to Pakistan for its political, diplomatic and moral support for Kashmir. We are grateful to Pakistani nation and the political parties for marking August 5 as Youm-e-Istehsal."
Hurriyat leader Syed Yousuf Naseem termed August 5, 2019, as the darkest day in Jammu and Kashmir's history.
He said on this day, the Indian government, having failed in its attempts to forcibly seize control of the Kashmir issue, unilaterally abrogated all past agreements and resolutions, including two dozen United Nations resolutions, the Simla Agreement, The Tashkent Declaration and The Lahore Declaration. India deployed over 1 million troops in Kashmir, thereby occupying the region, he said.
He said that on August 5, 2019, India abrogated Articles 35A and 370 of its constitution which was a constitutional terrorism by India. He said that the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, during an address at Lal Chowk, Srinagar had announced that the resolution of the Kashmir conflict would be done as per the wish of Kashmiris.
He had said India would not force Kashmiris to join India, they would decide through a free and fair plebiscite whether they want to join India or Pakistan.
Pakistan has been highlighting the Kashmir dispute as an advocate on every platform worldwide, he said and added that the Indian army has been imposed in Kashmir under black laws but it cannot usurp the state of Jammu and Kashmir through these coercive measures.
He said for Kashmiri masses August 5 was the day to renew pledge for the continuation of the freedom struggle till liberation of the state of Jammu and Kashmir from the illegal and immoral occupation of India.
Kashmiris to observe Black Day on 5th August
MIRPUR, Aug 04 (APP):The Jammu and Kashmir State population, inhibiting either side of the Line of Control and the rest of the world, will observe Monday, August 5, as Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir and as Black Day. Correspondent of Associated Press of Pakistan from Mirpur reported.
The Kashmiris will observe the black day on the call given by all Kashmiri freedom organizations to mourn the August 5, 2019 Indian sinister and forced action at gunpoint, abrogating the special status of the internationally acknowledged disputed Jammu and Kashmir State currently under Indian illegal occupation.
On August 5, 2019, the Modi-led Hindutva government revoked Articles 370 and 35-A that granted special status to the internationally recognized disputed territory and unlawfully imposed a brutal military and police siege.
The day will be marked with day-long anti-India street protests and demonstrations in AJK, besides a complete shutter-down strike and anti-India gatherings on the call of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and other organizations at both sides of the LoC, including in occupied Srinagar and suburbs, as Kashmiris have categorically rejected the illegal and unilateral Indian actions of August 5, 2019.
AJK varsities to observe "Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir" on Monday
MIRPUR, Aug 04 (APP):Eight public and private universities and colleges in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) will observe August 5 as "Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir" or "Exploitation Day" to condemn India's revocation of Article 370 and 35-A in Jammu and Kashmir five years ago.
The institutions will hold protest demonstrations, seminars, and symposiums to expose what they call "India's sinister actions" and "fascist Hindutva conspiracies" against the Kashmiri people's freedom struggle.
When contacted, Secretary to the AJK Government for Higher Education Muhammad Tayyeb told APP late Saturday that a grand seminar will be hosted by Kashmir Policy Research Institute of the state-run University of Azad Jammu Kashmir in the State metropolis on August 5 to mark the day.
Experts and scholars will discuss India's "expansionism and discrimination" against minorities. Webinars and special programs will also be organized at other universities, including Mirpur University of Science & Technology, Poonch University, and Women University in Bagh.
He said on this 'Youm-e-Istehsal', we salute the courage and valour of the people of IIOJK, who have rendered countless sacrifices in their struggle for the realization of their basic rights.
Meanwhile, the convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJK Chapter, Ghulam Mohammad Safi, said that India has been trying to justify its usurpation of Jammu and Kashmir since day one. In a cynical attempt to make Jammu and Kashmir a part of itself, the provisions included in the Constitution of India regarding the special status of Kashmir were abolished.
On August 5, 2019, India, he said the Modi government abolished the special semi autonomous status of Kashmir, and this day is now marked every year as Youm-e-Istehsal where voice was raised against oppression at every forum around the world.
Mirwaiz expresses concern over Kashmiri political detainees’ plight
ISLAMABAD, Aug 3 (APP):All Parties Hurriyat Conference senior leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has expressed concern over the plight of Kashmiri political detainees, including the Hurriyat leadership, calling it deeply disturbing.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in Srinagar said, “Repeatedly, we have appealed to the Indian government for the release of these prisoners and youth, but instead further arrests of Kashmiris continue,” according to Kashmir Media Service.
Referring to a series of articles published in a reputed news portal, detailing the shocking conditions faced by Kashmiri political prisoners, especially in infamous Tihar jail, during the extreme heat in overcrowded barracks without coolers and low ceiling fans, high-voltage bulbs kept on at all times, trapping heat and making conditions more unbearable.
“This is extremely inhuman. If authorities do not want to release these political prisoners, they should at least be treated humanely as per the international law on the rights of prisoners and the prison manuals,” Mirwaiz lamented.
Mishal Malik urges Muslim World to be united for Kashmir's freedom
ISLAMABAD, Aug 3 (APP):Mishal Hussein Malik, a champion of Kashmir's struggle for liberation and wife of Senior Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik Saturday passionately appealed to the Muslim world to break its silence on the ongoing injustice and human rights abuses in Kashmir and be united for Kashmiris freedom.
Talking to a private news channel, Mishal Malik urged Muslim leaders and local citizens to stand in solidarity with the people of Kashmir, who have been suffering under Indian occupation for decades.
The Muslim world's silence on Kashmir is disheartening ,' Malik said, adding, it is time for us to speak up and demand justice for the Kashmiri people,' she stressed.
Her appeal has also highlighted the critical role of women in the Kashmiri resistance, who have long been at the forefront of the struggle against Indian occupation.
"This steadfast solidarity is rooted in our shared values of justice, equality, and human rights, she said, adding, we recognize that the Kashmiri people have been denied of their fundamental right to self-determination for too long, and that their struggle is a beacon of hope for oppressed communities worldwide".
By standing shoulder to shoulder with our Kashmiri brothers and sisters, we affirm our commitment to amplifying their voices, advocating for their rights, and supporting their courageous resistance against occupation, she highlighted.
Through our collective action, we aim to break the silence that has shrouded the Kashmir conflict for decades. We will not be bystanders to the human rights abuses, the arbitrary detentions, and the brutal suppression of dissent, she said.
Instead, we will mobilize our resources, our networks, and our voices to demand that the international community takes concrete steps to address the Kashmir crisis, she further added. We will stand in solidarity with the Kashmiri people until they are able to exercise their right to self-determination, free from coercion, intimidation, and violence, she mentioned.
Together, we will work towards a future where the Kashmiri people can live with dignity, where their rights are respected, and where their self-determination is a reality, not a distant dream, she concluded.
Convener APHC appeals international community to help save Kashmiris from clutches of Indian rule
ISLAMABAD, Aug 3 (APP):The convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJK Chapter, Ghulam Mohammad Safi Saturday appealed to the international community to intervene and help free the Kashmiri people from Indian rule as Kashmiris have been subjected to unbearable suffering under Indian occupation. Safi in a talk with a television channel emphasized that the international community has a moral obligation to act, citing the numerous UN resolutions that have recognized Kashmir's right to self-determination.
Safi's appeal comes as Kashmiris prepare to mark August 5, the anniversary of India's revocation of Kashmir's autonomy. He called on the international community to stand in solidarity with the Kashmiri people and demand that India respect their fundamental rights and freedoms.
He urged world leaders to take concrete steps to pressure India to end its brutal suppression of dissent and allow the Kashmiri people to determine their own future.
The APHC leader also highlighted the dire human rights situation in Kashmir, where arbitrary detentions, enforced disappearances, and extrajudicial killings have become commonplace.
He stressed that the international community's inaction has only emboldened India to continue its atrocities, and that decisive action is needed to break the cycle of violence. The APHC convener also expressed gratitude to those countries and organizations that have already spoken out against India's actions in Kashmir, and urged others to follow suit.
He emphasized that collective action is needed to bring about a just and lasting resolution to the Kashmir conflict. Ghulam Mohammad Safi emphasized that India's adoption of the Hindutva ideology has severely damaged its reputation as a secular and democratic state.
He noted that the international community has taken notice of the rising tide of Hindu nationalism, which threatens the very fabric of India's pluralistic society. Safi warned that the Hindutva ideology is inherently exclusionary and discriminatory, seeking to establish Hindu supremacy at the expense of minority rights. He highlighted the alarming increase in hate crimes, lynching, and forced conversions, which have become commonplace in India under the current regime.
The APHC leader also drew attention to the systematic marginalization of minority communities, including Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, and Dalits, who are being denied their basic rights and freedoms. He stressed that the international community must recognize the grave threat posed by Hindutva and take concrete steps to hold India accountable for its actions. He urged world leaders to take a strong stance against India's egregious violations of human rights and international law, and to support the Kashmiri people's right to self-determination.
Pakistan to continue raising voice for Kashmir at all forums till its freedom from Indian clutches: Tarar
ISLAMABAD, Aug 03 (APP):Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, National Heritage and Culture Attaullah Tarar said on Saturday that considering its national duty, Pakistan has always raised its voice for Kashmiris right to self-determination at every international forum and continue to raise its voice till realisation of the Kashmiris goal of freedom.
He was addressing a webinar organized by Pakistan Embassy in Berlin, Germany on the occasion of Youm-e Istehsal of Kashmir to express solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
"We promise our Kashmiri brothers and sisters that we will carry their voice in every forum until the international community takes action on this issue," the minister assured.
The people of Illegally Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir have been making unprecedented sacrifices against the illegal rule of India, he remarked.
Pakistan will continue to support the people of Occupied Kashmir in their struggle for right to self-determination, he added.
"On August 5, 2019, India started unilateral actions in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the objective behind these operations was to disempower the Kashmiri people, deprive them of their right to self-determination and expel them from their own land, Attaullah Tarar said.
"India has been trying to bring demographic changes in the occupied Kashmir population to damage the Kashmiris struggle for the right of self-determination", he stated.
He said Indian government was trying to convince the world that Jammu and Kashmir was an undisputed part of its territory which was not true.
He recalled that it was New Delhi itself which took the issue of Jammu and Kashmir to the United Nations Security Council and its disputed status was recognized at the global level after UN adopted many resolutions on the long standing dispute.
The minister maintained that India's brutal and illegal occupation of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir was not only a violation of international laws, but also a mockery of internationally recognized principles of human rights.
The government of Pakistan had passed a unanimous resolution in the Parliament in support of the Kashmiri people, in which it had expressed its concern over the extremist intentions of the Hindutva government of India.
It was responsibility of the international community to put pressure on India to end gross violations of human rights and the unilateral and illegal occupation of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Pakistani Ambassador to Berlin Saqlain Syeda, Lord Qurban Hussain, Honorary President of Prussian Society Berlin Volker Tschapke, prominent Kashmiri leaders Shamim Shawl, Mushaal Mullick, Altaf Hussain Wani and Ali Raza Syed also addressed the webinar. They shed light on the serious situation in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Hurriyat leaders reiterate call to observe August 5 as ‘Youm-e-Istehsal’
ISLAMABAD, Aug 3 (APP):Hurriyat leaders have once again urged the Kashmiri people to observe August 5 as “Youm-e-Istehsal” (Day of Exploitation), marking the fifth anniversary of India’s Hindutva regime’s decision to abrogate Article 370, which granted special status to occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The leaders including Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Advocate Arshad Iqbal, Muhammad Saleem Zargar, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Khawaja Firdous, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Advocate Devinder Singh Behl, Ghulam Nabi War, Muhammad Haseeb Wani, Yasmeen Raja, Fareeda Behanji, Muhammad Aqib, and Hafsa Bano have issued statements in Srinagar condemning the move as a severe assault on Kashmiri identity and territorial integrity, Kashmir Media Service said. They denounced it as a calculated conspiracy to alter the territory’s demographic makeup and strip its people of their resources, jobs, identity, and right to self-determination.
The leaders criticized the Indian government’s settler-colonial policies and anti-Kashmiri laws, calling on the international community to take effective action against India’s actions in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Kashmir Exploitation Day: India’s HR abuses, endless oppression root-cause of indigenous freedom movement in IIOJK
PESHAWAR, Aug 03 (APP):Breaking all records of oppression, human rights (HR) abuses and systematic state terrorism in the Indian
Illegally Occupied Jummu and Kashmir, the India’s apartheid regime has deprived the oppressed Kashmiris of all rights and liberties especially after abolishing the special status of IIOJK on August 5, 2019.
Rejecting all international laws, Geneva Convention and UN Security Council resolutions on Kashmir, the India's Hindutva regime broke all records of oppression, humans rights (HR) abuses including extra judicial killings and systematic state terrorism at IIOJK especially after abrogating Articles 370 and 35 A five years ago on August 5, 2019, thereby holding hostage millions of oppressed Kashmiris at gun point in the held valley where life became a nightmare for Kashmiris, especially for innocent children and women.
In world over, August 5 is observed as Kashmir Exploitation Day by the people of Kashmir as five years ago on this black day, the fascist Modi regime without any legal justification had illegally abrogated the Articles 370 and 35A in 2019, thus abolished the special status of IIOJK unilaterally.
The people of Kashmir on both sides of LoC were all set to stage mammoth protest rallies and demonstrations to condemn an illegal abrogation of the said articles by the India's Hindutva regime.
The unending repression, human rights’ abuses and organized Indian state terrorism that started from an illegal invasion at Srinagar on October 27, 1947 were further intensified after the fascist Modi government unlawfully revoked the special status of IIOJK on August 5, 2019 and had converted the held valley as the world largest prison of modern era.
“October 27, 1947 and August 5, 2019 are the blackest days in the history of Kashmir as on these days, India had made deep-rooted conspiracy to rob Kashmiris of their history, language and ethno-cultural identity,” said Adnan Sarwar Khan, former Chairman, International Relations Department, University of Peshawar, while talking to APP.
He said the Indian occupation forces’ continued oppression, human rights abuses and unleashed terror at IIOJK were one of the root causes of an indigenous freedom movement in the held valley.
“India can’t change IIOJK autonomous status unilaterally in the wake of UN Security Council (UNSC) resolutions. The Indian government’s illegal acts of August 5, 2019 were neither endorsed by the UNSC nor by any foreign country, and the Hinduvata regime was now repenting after internationalizing the Kashmir dispute that put peace in South Asia at stake,” he said.
Prof Dr AH Hilali, former Chairman, Political Science Department, University of Peshawar said the strategic stability has been threatened by India as it continued to receive abundant supply of conventional and non conventional weapons that put the peace of South Asia at jeopardy.
He said the unprecedented increase in India’s military budget and expenditures in recent years have characterized the global security landscape especially of the South Asia as grim.
Mushtaq Ahmed Shah, Vice Chairman, Jummu and Kashmir Peoples League told APP that August 5 was the blackest day in the history of Kashmir as on this day India tried to rob Kashmiris of their history and identity and violated UN Security Council resolutions.
He said the people of Azad Kashmir have completed arrangements to stage big protest rallies and demonstrations on August 5 to condemn the illegal abolishment of special status of IIOJK.
Protest demonstrations would be taken out in all districts of Azad Kashmir where people would raise placards inscribed with slogans such as 'India Go out of Kashmir' and Kashmir Banay Ga Pakistan."
“After August 5 illegal actions, Indian occupation forces had killed many innocent Kashmiris in fake encounters, put Kashmiri leadership behind bars, imposed clampdown on media and used human rights abuses as weapon of war,” Mushtaq said.
He said that even the mass rituals and funeral of great Kashmiri leader, Syed Ali Gillani was not allowed and his body was forcefully snatched from the bereaved family and buried at night.
Similarly, great hurriat leader, Muhammad Yasin Malik was jailed for life in a fake case in a bid to silence his strong voice for Kashmir’s freedom and terrorize other Kashmir leadership.
Despite the brutal killing of freedom fighter Burhan Wani and other Kashmiris leadership in a fake encounter, he said India failed to suppress the indigenous freedom movement in IIOJK.
The Kashmir leader claimed that over six million illegal domicile certificates of IIOJK have been provided to Hindus in a bid to bring about demographic change there.
The gruesome violation of human rights including forced disappearance of over 8,000 innocent Kashmiris, 8,652 unmarked mass graves, imposition of longest curfew on some 10 million unarmed Kashmiris, extra judicial killings and human rights abuses especially against women and children exposed India’s ugly secular face, he maintained.
The Kashmiri leader while referring to the September 2021’s Pakistani dossier said about 8,652 unmarked graves were identified in 89 villages of six districts in the held valley while bodies of 37 Kashmiris burnt alive by Indian forces were beyond recognition.
Since 1989, he said over 96,000 cases of extra judicial killings, around 162,000 cases of arbitrary arrests and torture, over 25,000 pellet guns injuries, 11,250 women raped, 23,000 women widowed and over 108,000 children orphaned by the Indian army.
Mushtaq Ahmed said an excessive use of snipers and cluster ammunitions by India to target innocent Kashmiris along the Line of Control (LoC), use of children and women as human shields by Indian army during encounters and making them sleep at military camps forcing them to dig out minefields and tying youth on military jeeps testified Modi government’s direct involvement in war crimes and genocide of Kashmiris.
Hussain Khateeb, member All Parties Hurriyat Conference (Gillani Group) said the burning of mosques, houses and shops belonging to Muslims at BJP-led Tripura state by Hindutvta groups of RSS, VHP and Bajrang Dal had exposed Modi’s tyranny against minorities.
He said mosques in Krishnagar, Dharmangar, Panisagar, Chandrapure were vandalized by the saffron-wearing youth in planned attacks on the Muslims population.
Former Ambassador Manzoorul Haq said that the illegal occupation of Kashmir by India contravened multiple articles of the 30 fundamental human rights of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) drafted by representatives from all the regions of the world including India on December 10, 1948 and subsequently was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Waleed Rasool exposes Indian political parties' true face in Kashmir'
ISLAMABAD, Aug 3 (APP):An academician, multi-disciplinary scholar and Peace Activist Dr. Sheikh Waleed Rasool on Saturday criticized Indian political parties for their handling of the situation in Kashmir, accusing them of bullying and deceiving the Kashmiri people.
In an exclusive interview with Radio Pakistan in connection with Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir, he argued that the Indian government has sought to erode the property rights of Kashmiris and undermine their ability to self-govern, adding that despite these challenges, many Kashmiris continue to aspire for independence and self-determination.
He exposed the true face of Indian political parties in Kashmir and Dr. Rasool believed that the Indian government's actions would not extinguish the Kashmiri people's desire for freedom and autonomy. He said that Youm-e-Istehsal will be observed to express the Kashmiri people's rejection of India's alleged illegal occupation and to protest the Indian government's decision on August 5, 2019, to revoke the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.
This day serves as a reminder of the Kashmiris' ongoing struggle for self-determination and their refusal to accept the Indian government's unilateral actions, which they deem a violation of their rights and a threat to their identity, he maintained.
Responding to a question, Dr. Waleed Rasool strongly criticized the Modi government's policies in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly the imposition of Hindu nationalist ideology (Hindutva) in the region. He also condemned the government's decision to change the names of places, languages and curriculum of students, which he sees as an attempt to erase the cultural identity and heritage of the Kashmiri people.
Dr. Rasool argues that these changes are a form of cultural imperialism, aimed at suppressing the unique history and traditions of Kashmir and assimilating the region into a dominant Hindu nationalist narrative. He called for the preservation of Kashmir's cultural autonomy and the protection of its distinct identity.
He stated that even Hitler, notorious for his brutal suppression of minority groups, did not attempt to alter the cultural identity of the regions, as the Indian government is doing in Kashmir. He vehemently criticized the Indian government's policies towards minority communities, particularly Muslims, Christians and other marginalized groups.
To another question, Dr. Rasool further criticized the Indian government for unilaterally changing laws and policies in Jammu and Kashmir without regard for the region's autonomy or the will of its people.
He argued that the Indian government's actions are a form of legislative imperialism, where laws are being changed at whim to suit the government's political agenda, without consideration for the region's unique cultural, social, and political context. The Indian government continues to implement its Hindu nationalist agenda, it has faced growing criticism and opposition, both domestically and internationally, he added.
He said that many Indians, who value the country's secular and pluralistic traditions, have spoken out against the government's divisive policies and actions. With each passing day, the Indian government's actions are being increasingly exposed for their undemocratic and discriminatory nature, leading to a growing chorus of dissent and disapproval, he added.
Dr. Waleed Rasool' s words are a stark reminder of the harsh reality in Kashmir, where the Indian occupation forces have been accused of perpetrating gross human rights violations.
According to his estimates, over 4 lac Kashmiris have lost their lives in the occupied territory, victims of a brutal campaign of oppression and suppression. Yet, despite the overwhelming odds, the Kashmiri people remain resolute in their quest for self-determination, he added.

Mushaal said that India was leasing Kashmir's land to foreigners and giving a false impression that the situation had returned to normal IIOJK, adding that Kashmiri people had mentally prepared themselves by looking at Indian illegal actions.

“India is badly trapped and its narrative badly broken,” the chairperson.
