Mr. Aamer Manzoor is an entrepreneurial executive with 23 years of experience work in g with international, multinational & national companies. He managed and build high growth companies in telecommunication with media and telecom domains (TMT). He is founder member of two startups with later one acquired by Orascom Telecom Group (currently VEON Group) to enter the broadband /internet market in Pakistan.

He has motivational management style with a record of building and retaining highly motivated teams and successful in identifying opportunities for accelerated growth. He is considered as one of the pioneers in bringing internet in to Pakistan. He has M BA from LUMS as well as M asters in IT from Harvard University, USA

INTRODUCTION

Pakistan entered into Television Broadcasting age with a small pilot TV Station established at Lahore from where transmission was first beamed, in Black & White, with effect from 26 November 1964. Television Centres were established in Karachi and Islamabad in 1967 and in Peshawar and Quetta in 1974, then in Multan and AJK.

While introducing the biggest media organization of Pakistan, the broad perspective kept in mind was to inform and educate the people through wholesome entertainment and to inculcate in them a greater awareness of their own history, heritage, current problems and development as well as knowledge of the world at large. The main responsibility of PTV is to provide public service broadcasting not only within Pakistan but also outside Pakistan. It makes programmes for all its viewers in drama, documentaries current affairs, entertainment and sport. Its programmes are produced in Urdu as well as in all regional languages i.e Sindhi, Punjabi, Pashto and Balochi. While producing its programmes it pays due attention to the interest and aspirations of all strata of society and tries to reflect those effectively in its programmes.

PTV terrestrial coverage is about 90% of the population of Pakistan and its channels received via satellite in South Asia, East Asia and the Middle East, Africa, United Kingdom, Europe and North America.
