Strengthening Pak-China friendship cornerstone of country’s foreign policy: PM

Prime Minister Imran Khan says strengthening all-weather Pakistan-China strategic cooperative partnership is cornerstone of Pakistan's foreign policy.

Chairing a meeting in Islamabad on Monday, he said early implementation of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor projects will help realize true potential of bilateral economic relations for the development of entire region.

The Prime Minister said agricultural output of the country can be enhanced manifold by learning from Chinese expertise and employing latest technologies and efficient methods.

He emphasized on the need to focus on early establishment of Special Economic Zones in various parts of the country, which will help the local industry grow and also create huge employment opportunities for the youth.

Imran Khan said the flagship China-Pakistan Economic Corridor under Belt and Road Initiative of Chinese President Xi Jinping also offered opportunities to other countries to invest in CPEC projects and reap benefits in various sectors.

The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Finance Minister. Asad Umer, Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, Planning Minister Makhdoom Khusro Bukhtiar, Power Minister Omar Ayub Khan, Advisors to Prime Minister Abdul Razak Dawood and Dr. Ishrat Hussain and other senior officials.

The Prime Minister's forthcoming visit to China and CPEC projects were discussed during the meeting.
